Why "Planine"? Planine is the Bosnian word for mountains. The highest peaks around Sarajevo are Treskavica (2,088 m), Bjelašnica (2,067 m), Jahorina (1,913 m) and Trebević (1,627 m).

The hostel was immaculately clean, comfortable, and modern, with spotless bathrooms and toilets. There’s also a fantastic kitchen and balcony where you can hang out. Plus, tea, coffee, and spices were free to use!
The bed was super comfortable, great for a good night’s sleep. The kitchen is big and well-equipped, which was perfect for cooking.

The location is on top of a hill (like a large part of Sarajevo is) which gives a great view from the kitchen/common area and terrace. The common area is very social and I got to know a lot of other solo travellers in the mornings…
Yes, Sarajevo has hills! Here's the easy way up.
The Cathedral is 12 minutes' walk down, Baščaršija 19. Coming back up takes a touch longer.
From the airport
Our shuttle, 20 EUR for up to 3 people. Book it online, or send us your flight time on WhatsApp and we will meet you at arrivals.

What time can I check in and out?
Reception is open 8am to 11pm. Please check out by 11am. You're welcome to hang out in the common rooms after that.
I'm arriving late at night.
No problem. Message us a day or two before with your bus, train or flight time, so someone is up to let you in.
Are linen and towels included?
Always. Dorm guests get one towel, private rooms get two.
Can you keep my bags?
Yes. Before check-in, after check-out, or while you take a short trip to Mostar.
Is there parking?
Yes, we have parking for 3 cars. Email us before you arrive to save a spot.
